restart life
Okay, I haven’t lost everything. After Japan, and there are dozens of other words we could use to describe that chapter of my life, I find myself starting over. Largely from scratch, partially from residual stuff from the Japan chapter, and some treasures from a former self, but also some new goodies.
Good friends have taken me in, so I now have a home. A giant queen size bed has been loaned to me. It’s the biggest bed I have ever had use of, I get lost in it some mornings.
My insurance claim from the Niseko ski disaster has finally come through. Now I am in a position to get my hands on a hot little digital video camera, I am considering the Canon MV920. I’m still keen to hear about the claim for my busted ski though…
Re-constructing this office desk almost gave my father another heart attack. I think I remember the CPR basics, just those vital numbers I can’t recall… My home office is in the Red Room – it feels a bit like a game of Cluedo in this big old house. Anyone got a spare toaster or kettle?
I scored my old mountain bike back – a great thing because I can’t afford tram fares at the moment! Borrowed a D-lock for it from my best mate. Need some glue for my helmet, and have to remember to not ride like I am in Japan: on the footpath and one hand on the mobile phone – almost killed myself today doing just that!
New blog (this is it, and here’s the old one), first post (and, yep, this is it), will definitely be edited because we can. Stay tuned to the all new adventures of life.

We are alright for a toaster and kettle now. My housemate Quinny got both last Sunday, plus an E.T. spaceship looking microwave. Anyone got a spare jaffle iron?
